Museum of Natural History

We went to the Sam Noble Museum of Natural History at the University of Oklahoma on July 19, 2003. If you are into old dead stuff, then you may want to check this place out.

Some pictures/descriptions:

Xiphactinus (zih FAK un us)
Eryops, a large amphibian. It lived in the same time as Dimetrodon (next pic).
Dimetrodon...lived about 280 mya, this one found in the great state of Texas.
Diplocaulus, it was an underwater amphibian.
Pteranodon...Interesting looking flying dinosaur with a 20 ft. wingspan.
Cotylorhynchus...Peculiar looking animal with a huge body and an very very small looking head.
This display is the main show of the ancient life exhibit. This shows the Apatosaurus (the huge 93 foot long one) and the much smaller Saurophaganax.

This is a pentaceratops head. This is the largest skull of any land animal ever found.
