June 12, 2004 Sumner/Cowley County Kansas tornados
7:10 P.M. Tornado #1 I wasn't certain that it was definitely a tornado since I couldn't see the debris cloud at the ground. I found out a little later it was a damaging tornado when I had to drive across the damage path. This tornado was southwest of Mulvane, KS.

I went south after this tornado to attempt to east (and stay south of storm) on highway 55 to find out the road is closed and I'm on the wrong side of the Arkansas River. I went back to Woodlawn Road to try to head north to cross the river at Mulvane. While I was headed north, the storm produced the next tornado.
7:26-7:36 P.M. Tornado #2 Beautiful tornado from the west. Right at the end of the tornado, it hit some structure that created a lot of debris. It was southeast of Mulvane, KS.
