May 7, 2002 Kansas Chase-Tornado at a distance
Not my most brilliant chase as I first headed out to the northwest corner of OK only to have the only storms of the day happen must further north near Dodge City, KS. After accepting my error, I headed up north in a hurry. I wasn't able to get to the storms that really produced the tornados as I was stuck south of clusters of convection. I ended up positioned on the southside of the convection watching several wallclouds come by and decay. The only tornado I saw was in the distance to the west.

The tornado from the picture above.

After being "in position", I watched the
first of three wallclouds come just to my north.

Beautiful structure breaks down with lots
of outflow.
Not a bad chase overall....468 miles and no hail damage and one distant tornado.
