May 6, 2001 Tornado Pictures

A great chase with a 12 minute tornado just northwest of Springer, OK. I took the pictures and video from Exit 42 on I-35 where I had a pretty good view to the north and west despite the trees.

Pictures start with lowering in the distance, a look at the vertical development of the storm, then several pictures through the tornado's life including the rope phase.

Later that afternoon, I was headed east generally toward Ada, OK. Along the trip, I watched this storm:

A couple of rainbow pictures as a severe storm crossed Ada, and I watched from the west as I started to think about heading back to Texas.

And a view of the storm off to the east as I retreated to the west. This picture is (as it appears) simply three pictures stuck together.
